Someone to Love

Poor Mary had to spend the night in the emergency room - ear infection and a high fever. Mary didn't have any of her various toy monkeys, koalas, bears or bees with her, so she cuddled a cool bottle of water and patted its smooth little back. When she finally got home she clutched her tiny koala into her neck for a while before presenting him to be kissed a few times.

It just boggles my mind how deeply ingrained the need to love is. Even babies want babies.

Lizard Fight

Chris has also taught Mary how to hiss and Grrrr. Fathers.

Laughing

Mary is laughing too hard to get her picture taken, certainly too hard to fall asleep.

Good Times

Last weekend Mary's uncle Ben looked after our sick baby so Chris and I could have a date. (Dinner and a movie was never so nice before!) During one of Mary's hacking fits, Ben walked up to her crib to replace the binky and tuck her back in. Mary didn't fully wake up, but she did say, "I love you."

And now Ben is completely destroyed. Which is adorable.

I think Chris's favorite part of working near the Pike Place Market is bringing home little treats for us. I know it's one of mine. Here is Mary getting a strawberry and Chris getting the lion's share of the happy anticipation. (She doesn't know yet how good it will be.)

Could not decide which of these pictures to post. Fortunately, there is always room on the internet for another baby picture.
