It's midnight, again. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get Mary to fall asleep on the same day she wakes up. All you parents out there - any ideas?

Elevensies

We had a high fashion photoshoot before elevensies today. For all you non-Lord-of-the-Rings-dorks, elevensies is the name for the meal after second-breakfast and before lunch. Damn, I love the hobbit way of living.

Little Mary might have started teething already. Poor little rosebud. It's sick but I think she's cutest when she's upset.

I'm putting the videos on cd for Grandma and Grandpa McFarland because the only downside of living in paradise is a terrible internet connection. Let me know if there's anyone else out there who would rather have them on cd.

Only three people voted. I'm guessing that means Aunt Sage voted for "Garden Gnome" three times. (Didn't think you'd get caught?)

Grandpa Tim sent us these photos of Mary at 6 weeks. Even though it feels like no time has passed, the changes are striking. (To us, anyhow.)

Angus and Aunt Sara

Today was all about Aunt Sara. She drove all the way up to Seattle this morning so that Chris and I could have a few hours to hang out together before he had to go to work. (Chris's work schedule is brutal.) We packed a week's worth of hanging out into three hours. On the way to the hardware store we passed a McDonald's ad for the new Angus Third Pounder. As you all can see, that's only red sticker away from "t ird pounder". We spent the whole rest of the morning talking in German accents about the exploits of an adult film star named Angus, and looking for red tape. Lord, we have fun. It's going to be so hard to watch my mouth when Mary gets older.

Good Morning Baby

Our usual camera man was asleep. Even when the camera is just resting on the arm of our chair, Mary is fascinated by it. I'm confused; it doesn't have any special lights or noises.

Chris and Mary were so cute yesterday, sporting identical faces, outfits, and desires to be left alone.

Jumperoo

We have trouble taking good footage of Mary because she is usually too fascinated by the camera to finish her train of thought.

Last week Chris bought Mary this plastic monstrosity. She loves it. I said, "Well just let her sit in her chair, or swing, or bungee cage...what IS that thing called?"

Chris said, "Duh. It's a Jumperoo."

Well, even in a poorly lit snap shot, with her diaper hanging out, Frankie is a charmer. So it's not that bad.

I've been trying for days and days to upload a video of Frankie's laugh. Not sure what the problem is; it appears to be a glitch on Blogspot's side. Here's hoping!

In other news...

Mary can scoot forward on her tummy a few inches. She can almost grab her binky. She sleeps through the night and most of the day because the poor girl hates the heat. She's also eating a tremendous amount. The child is going to be huge.
