Mary has one and a half teeth now, both center bottom. They are pretty teeth; fine jewelry has nothing on them. As of last month's check-up, she weighs 20 lbs and is 28 inches tall. (Lord only knows how big she is now; the girl eats like a horse.)
Last week Mary took her first couple of steps. She was trying to get to the laptop to watch "Blacker Than Barack" on YouTube. Mary was so excited that she didn't even realize what she had accomplished and hasn't tried it again since.
Little Bug has claimed a pair of Chris's safety glasses for her very own. The way she charges into things, we encourage her taste. She also favors a stuffed blue puppy and a much-abused toy Koala. Unfortunately, our daughter is musical too - we don't need anyone to send her a drum set; she makes her own out of whatever's on the floor.
Mary is very social lately. She waves and greets anything that moves. She will talk a stranger's ear off, especially if she's holding my cell phone. She's also a big fan of trees, yellow flowers, birds, leaves, and moss. No one will ever know our yard as intimately as Mary does. Her favorite thing to do it comb through the grass and participate in a conversation. (I am trying to lure people over as often as I can so she can get her fix in.)
School starts for me soon so Mary will be spending time at a sweet Daycare called Whiz Kids. They post photos and updates on each kid's activities so hopefully I will find a way to incorporate those into this blog.
More news later.
